Kats Dance Trainee Teacher Programme
Kats Dance Trainee Teacher Programme
This programme is designed to support and supervise students who wish to obtain a teachers qualification in dance. This qualification is awarded under the United Kingdom Alliance (UKA) of dance, and thus, individuals with this qualification are recognised members of the UKA.
In addition to teaching dance, the UKA provides opportunities for continuous personal
development.
At Kats Dance Academy, students are invited to join this program (in addition to their core dance class) by qualified UKA dance teachers: Michelle and Kat.

I ’m Helena and I have been dancing with Kats Dance since I was 6 years old! I love all styles of dance, but my favourites are tap, jazz and musical theater! Outside of dance, my other interests include acting (I assist with the drama and theater classes) and playing violin in the local orchestra.
Helena has completed Regulated exams Tap grade 3 Ballet grade 2

Hi I'm Emily. I've been attending Kats Dance since around the age of 8 when I joined the lower academy. Since then I've moved up through the classes and I'm now in the senior group. I also attend the adult ballet classes and help out regularly on Saturdays and workshop days. My parents are both on the Kats Dance committee and my younger sister is in the prelim advanced class at Kats Dance Academy. Away from dance, I am a scout with the FSE which I joined at the age of 5. My other interests include keeping fit, especially running and swimming and I have recently completed my junior Lifeguarding qualification. I enjoy getting involved in local charity and events and fundraising for good causes. I've just signed up to a 100 mile challenge in aid of bone cancer trust. Emily has completed Regulated exams Tap grade 3 Ballet grade 2

Hi my name is Honey, I am currently training to be a teacher at Kats Dance Academy and help at the workshops and with the younger students. After joining in 2011, I have made my way through the lower academy and the upper academy and I am now in the Seniors class. Some of my interests outside of dancing include sports such as netball, badminton, and trampolining which I have placed on the podium in at my school. I have also won a bronze medal for long jump and high jump against every school in Rochdale. Honey has completed Regulated exams Tap grade 3 Ballet grade 2

Hi, I’m Megan and I am a trainee teacher at Kats Dance. I have been at Kats Dance for 10 years and I have worked my way up from the youngest group to the seniors. I also help on Tuesday contemporary classes, Saturday classes and workshop days. I have been a trainee since June 2022. I currently attend Holy Family and I am in my last year. Im preparing to take my GCSEs in History, Food technology and PE as well as core subjects.
