Kats Dance
Trainee Teacher Programme
This programme is designed to support and supervise students who wish to obtain a teachers qualification in dance. This qualification is awarded under the United Kingdom Alliance (UKA) of dance, and thus, individuals with this qualification are recognised members of the UKA.
In addition to teaching dance, the UKA provides opportunities for continuous personal development.
At Kats Dance Academy, students from the age of 15 are invited to join this program (in addition to their core dance class) by qualified UKA dance teachers: Michelle and Kat, subject to Kats Dance terms and conditions.

Hello, my name is Katy and I am on the Teacher Training program here at Kats Dance. I started at Kats Dance when I was only 3 years old and have grown up alongside the Academy since 2011. I help at the Adult's Tap Classes on a Monday as well as all the classes on a Saturday. I have also completed Regulated Exams of Tap Grade 3 and Ballet Grade 2.
Hi my name is Olivia, I am currently a trainee teacher at Kats Dance Academy. I joined Kats Dance Academy in 2011 and have worked my way through the lower and upper academy and I also help with the Holiday workshops. I am currently a Flight Sergeant within the Royal Air Force Air Cadets, this includes running a squadron of 40+ cadets and it is my job to train and asses them on necessary skills such as first aid, leadership and radios, etc. Within college I am a part of the Women in leadership program which allows me to vouch for my views as an individual within the local area of Bury and Bolton and nationwide at conferences.

Hi, I’m Marie I’m a trainee at Kats Dance Academy. I’ve been dancing at Kats for 11 years. I have worked my way from the lower academy to the seniors. I started the trainee teacher program in January of 2025. I also help out with the Tuesday classes and Holiday sessions. I have my regulated grade 2 tap and ballet. I also have grade 4 drama
Hi my name is Olivia and I'm currently a trainee teacher at Kats Dance as of 2025. I have attended Kats Dance since the age of two and have worked my way through the classes and am now in the senior class. I'm currently at Rochdale Sixth Form studying Psychology, Sociology and Art. I also support the HAF sessions run by Kats Dance in the school holidays.
Hi I'm Emmy. I am 15 years old. I have been dancing at Kats Dance Academy since I was 3 years old. I have danced in numerous dance shows with the academy, and was accepted on to the dance teacher trainee scholarship in January 2025. I love to dance and enjoy sharing my knowledge and passion with the younger children. I am first aid awareness trained and also safeguarding trained.
